FOCUS SEMINAR: JOURNALISM EDUCATION

As journalism is going through disruptive transformations worldwide, the idea of revisiting journalism education from that point of view seems likely. In this Focus Seminar we will elicit this perspective together, through inviting a short presentation to set our discussion off, followed by an open round-table-style discussion.

In our last seminar/meeting we heard from Ethiopia. In this one it would be of equal interest to hear from the Balkan region. The outgoing question on which everyone is invited to reflect and plan a contribution in the seminar, is this one: What challenges for journalism education do we see on the horizon that stems directly or indirectly from "the digital transformation" we are now living through?

As mentioned in our first session, a plan is on the table to produce a book/yearbook during 2021. This might be one of those key issues. In the meeting on May 4th we will also take up this discussion again, moving it one step closer to launch.
